Design and development of context-aware Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) are not trivial due to the large number possible context elements that may be relevant application lack structured information guide system designers in this task. This paper proposes with common characteristics can grouped into categories, these categories organized a taxonomy. taxonomy could help task modeling developing new ITS. We performed literature review 68 articles describing 70 ITS applications features identify used type application. Furthermore, we also analyzed three commercial applications. data collected from analysis 73 projects define their relationships. propose 79 57 leaf (a category without children subcategories). two experiments validate whether exposure improve quality an during its design, favorable results showing 2.7 times increase average amount Finally, compiled knowledge base which element projects.
